as the days become less 'feel like you are trapped in an oven' and more 'enjoying the sun without wanting to cut off your skin' i am reminded why brisbane really is kind of fabulous - 75 minute ferry rides to exotic tropical islands.

just a few treasures this week. i did manage to pop into a couple of op shops on my way to the airport while i was in melbourne and picked up four of those gorgeous johnson mugs for 50c each!!! vintage sheets are becoming harder and harder to find but it was nice to find a few rad towels and another winter blanket for the stash :)

...because sometimes you just need a little reminder. especially on the days where you have to go to work in the rain after two weeks of holiday. i'm looking hard for the joy people - i know it's out there!

melbourne.

i have returned from the land of milk and honey that some like to call melbourne. i grew up in melbourne until i was 16 and part of my heart will always live there. there is always something realy special the familiarity of melbourne and all the memories attached to each place. this trip was to visit new babies (if you follow me on instagram i'm sorry for the overload of baby photos) and catch up with family but i had hoped to fit in a little op shopping and city wanderings after some great reccommendations by some of you. unfortunately, the teachers curse caught up with me and i have spent everyday of the holidays fighting some form of cold or flu. i managed to drag myself out of the house a few times (one was to eat my body weight at my favourite place ever) but spent most of the week feeling like an 80 year old lady. needless to say, the last two photos are the most accurate in depicting my week in melbourne which is okay because that is one gorgeous baby!

a few treasures picked up this week. that little peach dress is so gorgeous and fits perfectly - i may of may not have let out a squeal when i uncovered it on the rack :)

in other news - i'm off to melbourne today to visit old friends and new nephews. any suggestions of places to visit while i'm there??

i am an outside person.
i was blessed to have a childhood full of camping, beaching, throwing, walking, skipping and jumping.
and now i am an adult who wants to go, do, see, explore, hike, climb and jump off waterfalls.

my best friends wedding...

...was amazing and beautiful and fabulous and lovely! i don't want to share too much cos i'm sure she will do that when she returns from honeymooning! but it was a really special day. pop on over here to let the bride know you want to see more photos :)
